— Getting people (with money) excited about history.

THE CHALLENGE

Each year, the Chicago Metro History Fair Education Center hosts an Annual Benefit, which celebrates the Chicago History Fair and honors those who support quality history education.

THE PROCESS

Several years ago I was asked to come up with a theme and invitation for an event that would commemorate the Chicago History Fair's 35 year anniversary. My kids had both participated in the Chicago History Fair and I saw firsthand the impact it continues to have on them. I wanted to capture the excitement that comes from discovery.

The inspiration for this piece came directly from what the organization does; it gets kids excited about history, and does so very quickly. They literally ignite kids' curiosity.

In addition to the invitation, an RSVP card and envelope were also produced.

The theme also extended to posters at the event, as well as an event program.

The elements of the event translated easily to social media.
