ART, PROMOTION

— Children's art can be priceless.

THE CHALLENGE

Creating art projects that are attractive, salable, age-appropriate in level of difficulty, and allow everyone to participate equally.

THE PROCESS

I would make mini versions of these first, in order to test them out. If they turned out well, I would then write out their instructions.

For over five years I volunteered to steer the art projects that were auctioned off at the annual benefit. By my fifth year, I had learned a lot and developed a system. Here are some art project suggestions followed by photos of the actual pieces the students created. (frescoes are a favorite)

And the first project I ever did; a tribute to Warhol featuring Maria Montessori as interpreted by the students of the Children's House (ages 3-6).
